I'm back again with another Mary-Kate and Ashley review!! (sorry guys!!). Please bear with me, I am almost half way through the Two Of A Kind Series!
By now, most of you will know that I was a massive fan of the American twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, when I was younger. I own a lot of their books and DVDs, and after discovering a box of my old 'MK&A Collection', I thought that I would share my thoughts and opinions with you!
Snow Problem is based on their television programme 'Two Of A Kind' which is currently showing on Sky's 'Pop Girl' channel. Snow Problem is the fifteenth
book in the 'Two Of A Kind' book series. In fact I saw an episode of this show on the television the other day, and I reminded me of how much I loved this show. Two Of A Kind is about American twins Mary-Kate and Ashley, who play themselves in the show ; eleven year old twins, who live in Chicago. They live with their single-parent father ; their mother died when they were seven. Their father is a lecturer at the local university. Mary-Kate is the cool one, loves sport, hangs out with guys and is the total opposite of Ashley is very girlie, and loves boys and shopping.
In this book Mary-Kate and Ashley are at boarding school. When sporty guy Hans enters all of the winter sport competitions thinking that he is the best at everything, sporty girl Mary-Kate also enters all of the winter sports competition to try and prove him wrong. But why does Mary-Kate gets disaqualified ? Read Snow Problem to find out!
I was so excited when I won this book (as part of their three book 'christmas set') in a competition, as I was such a big fan of the twins at the time. This book revolves around Winter sports and so if you like sport then you will this book! Although having said that, you will still probably like this book even if you don't like sport.
This book focuses a bit more on Mary-Kate than Ashley and so it does make a bit of a change as the books are normally 'Ashley relationship problems' and a bit of boy talk, whereas this book is on a different subject: sport! This is definately a book to add to your Mary-Kate and Ashley collection!
This book is suitable for all girlie girls and girls between the ages of nine and thirteen who like reading. I think that the books are also really good, because the fact that they are quite 'cool' means that it will encourage young girls to read. The style of writing is easy to read, and the book itself at just over one hundred pages long is not simple, yet not too difficult either which means it strikes a perfect balance. This is the kind of book that can be read while chilling out or just before bed as it doesn't require much thinking!
I would definately recommend this book! It would make a perfect stocking filler for a child, and they do not have to be a fan of the twins to enjoy this book. There are also many books available (around 40 in all), which are currently selling for around just 1p (!!!) on Amazon, so you could buy the whole collection for just a couple of pounds!!
I would definately recommend this book to you!
Thanks for reading!
