~*~ Kerastase Bain Satin Shampoo ~*~

Something my hairdresser once told me that has stuck with me for life is "if your hair looks good, you look good. No one can look good with bad hair". I took this comment on board - well, it's true! And have since then always made an effort to take care of my hair. When you think about it, your hair is there every single day, so it makes sense to put a bit of time, effort and, yes, money into it, to make it look good.

Kerastase products are used in a lot of higher-end hairdressers including Saks and Toni and Guy. I hadn't really taken much notice of the products before, but when I asked my hairdresser of a shampoo and condition they recommended, they raved about these products. You will more often than not have your hair washed with these products in such salons mentioned above, just have a look out for them on display. It's worth trying before you buy as they are a quite expensive brand.

Kerastase are a high-end haircare range. The brand is not able to purchase online, instead you must purchase from a salon selling the range, where they will 'prescribe' suitable products to suit your hair type. It is however possible to purchase the range from ebay and a small selection of other online retailers (even though the company doesn't suggest you do this!) They describe themselves as a 'tailor made hair programme' which aims to provide nutrients to the hair. When you go for a consultation or trial in the hairdresser, they will assess your hair type and suggest suitable products.

This shampoo was recommended to me on having my highlights done as my hair was beginning to get quite dry and wispy. It wasn't majorly dry, but straightening and blow drying it has taken its toll on my hair, and this was the product suggested to try to sort that out. I was sceptical at first, but after highlighting my hair, my hairdresser shampooed and conditioned my hair with this product. I was amazed with the results. My hair instantly felt smoother, sleeker and in better condition. It also smells gorgeous. I purchased both the shampoo and the conditioner - two 250ml bottles - and this set me back close to £30, which is an awful lot for hair washing I know!

The shampoo also has the amazing effect of allowing me to go longer between washing my hair, after using these products I can go 2-3 days between washes without getting greasy roots. This isn't advertised as a benefit of the products, so it may just be me this happens to...

This is definitely the best shampoo and hair care range I have ever used. The only downfall is the price. Being a student, I can no longer justify spending such an extortionate amount on hair care. I therefore keep my bottle of shampoo and conditioner (I've only ever bought the one set!) and save it for special occasions, and stick to my £2 shampoo and conditioners for the rest of the time!

If you've got cash burning a hole in your pocket then go for it, but to be honest the results of these products aren't life-changing enough in my eyes to justify the price tag!

Summary: I'd definitely purchase this every time if it were cheaper!
