Advantages: Leaves hair soft, supple and stronger

Disadvantages: Not the cheapest by any means!

Lait Vital is part of Kerastase's range for normal to dry ("sensitised") hair. Although it's described as "incredibly light", which made me wonder whether it would be moisturising enough for my dryish hair, I chose it because the other conditioners in the range were much heavier, "masque" types and didn't seem suitable for every day use.

I needn't have worried. This conditioner is excellent on my long, fine, dryish hair - and if you haven't time to read any further, i'd say that for anyone whose hair doesn't have real "special need" (extremely dry, frizzy, brittle or oily) this conditioner will do a great job for you. ~ The product ~
The conditioner itself is quite thick, and smoothes through the hair easily. I find that a small palmful is sufficient for my long hair. It has almost no scent at all, so i'd imagine that it would be good for anyone with a particularly sensitive scalp. It doesn't need leaving on for a long time - the packaging says 2-3 minutes, i usually find by the time i've finished combing it through, that'll pretty much do. My hairdresser gave me a great tip here - apparently most conditioners benefit from "emulsifying" with a little warm water before you rinse them off. Just add a little hot water and massage it through, you can actually feel the hair go extra sleek and soft - then rinse out properly.

One thing I would criticise is the packaging - it's a screw on lid which i find fiddly when i'm head down over the bath washing my hair, and because the tube stands on the lid, you can't leave it off for a minute while you work out whether you need any more product. A flip top lid would be so much more convenient

~ The results ~
I find this leaves my hair soft and nourished - it also feels stronger, and i think this product helped me to grow my hair out by preventing split ends and so on. It never leaves hair at all weighed down or greasy. Sometimes I found that my hair was a little too slippery / fluffy after drying, but this is easily fixed with a bit extra finishing serum which i'd be using anyway.

~ Value~
This stuff IS expensive - around £15 a tube, which lasts me maybe 3 months. If budget is your top priority, this may not be the one for you. However if you can afford it ( and let's face it, compared with the cost of a single visit to the salon, it's not that much), i'd recommend this as probably the best everyday conditioner i've ever used. It won't deliver miracle results the first time you use it, but over time hair definitely stays healthier and stronger for using this.

Summary: If you can afford it, this is one of the best there is.
