Advantages: Smell, the fact it worked, the ease of use, the result!

Disadvantages: It needed to be way thicker so it could last longer!

Kerastase Ciment Anti U-Sure.

This set me back £13 for 200mls after spotting a web offer on wantthelook.com, the last of the big spenders, this was a result of a splurge on hair care after my birthday (I made a new years resolution for no more cosmetics, so far I have not done too badly but my hair care spending has sky-rocketed!). Normally this would cost around £17.50 in salons for 200mls. I paid less then this as I bought it on offer at lookfantastic for around £12. Still amazingly high. Am I mad? Yup! (It was my birthday...!) Am I happy with my purchase? Very!

I used this with other Kerastase products after choosing the best of what I could to support my coloured hair after reading reviews on other sites (makeupalley) it seemed overwhelmingly that this conditioner was better to use for my hair then Kerastases' own Chrome Riche (conditioner for coloured hair). Although this does say on the Kerastase site that it's well suited for my hair type. (Coloured and damaged). It's designed to reinforce and refinish damaged ends and lengths of your hair.

The conditioner comes in a squeezy matte, pale blue/green cone type tube with a dark green lid. It smells really nice, mild and slightly fruity/sweet with no overwhelming harsh chemical scent. Its odd, to me, it smelt 'blue'. Like when your at school and you drink a blue drink that tastes, well, blue. Not sure how else I would describe it- I liked the smell anyway!

It is a pale blue/green very runny conditioner- not milk like, but more like double cream then thick cream. It could have done with some thickening up as it's hard to gauge how much you're using whilst putting the cap back on the bottle- annoying if you're like me and have to put things away as you use them, not afterwards.

I have to say I noticed this straight away in the shower- as soon as I began to wash it out it was like my hair felt transformed- sleeker and much smoother and silkier. It almost felt a shame to rinse it out! But it does rinse out easily. Just for namesake, I did leave it in for about 60 seconds, it does recommend this. I tend to do with all conditioners, anyway just long enough to either apply shower gel or shave if you get bored).

After using it, I blow dried my hair. No visual difference aside from the colour staying put it was still frizzy- slightly less then when using Goldwell and John Frieda Serum, but nothing to write home about. I did notice it was soft to touch, felt easy to brush and felt strong against the yanking of my hair brush.

I will score this 4 out of 5. I wasn't sure if I should give it a 3 or a 4 as it's a good product, it does a good job of conditioning my hair, leaving it feeling really soft, smooth and strong. It could have done more- it could have helped with the frizz I get when blow drying and it could have been thicker and easier to apply, I would have also preferred a clip shut lid instead of a wind cap lid, and it is very expensive. I would think this would last me around 2 months, so average for me. That's about 40p a wash (4 times a week for 8 weeks). Its something I would buy again if I do come into money again (so my birthday next year then...) and had it been on the shelves in Boots at the same price as other hair care products I'd have snapped it up in no time as its much better then other products I've used, but its not a genius product. It's just very good. 3/ 4 out of 5.

Summary: Great product, did a fantastic job, but only if you have the money!
