Advantages: cheap, easy to clean and simple

Disadvantages: no water filter or more advanced features

Those of you who have read my review for the cookworks 2-slice toaster will know im already a bit of a cookworks fan, and this lovely little kettle has done nothing but solidify this view.

I moved out into the big wide world on my own at the young age of 16. Sitting in my first flat it was incredibly daunting all the things you realise you need that you take for granted whilst still living at home. Suddenly, the cost of life really begins to hit home and when you see prices like £25 for the simplest of the household accessory, the kettle, you begin to panic.

So, barely out of romper suits and making my way around argos, the cookworks signature seemed a godsend! £6.66 for the beginning of my little kitchen. Really, you cannot fault the price for the quality of this item. I am still yet to see the benefit of paying a fortune for these simple kitchen items.

So, with a maximum capacity of 1.7 litres (or approximately 6 good sized mugs?) this kettle is fine for the small to medium family. As with as all, it can take a little while to get going in the morning, but if you flick it on before you go for a morning wee, pop the tele on and get your slippers it will be well ready before you sit down again.

This kettle doesnt flash different colours or filter or anything special, it just boils water! As with most things though, the more complicated the pipes - the harder it is to clear the blockage.

The kettle is white, with wipe down surfaces. The kettle has a clear area with measurements so you can see how much water you need (only boiling what you need saves power!) On my version, it has a flip down button, but I think on the newer versions it is a push in. Removable from the base so you can move the kettle to your cups rather than the other way round.

nearly six years on, my good old cookworks is still going strong!
at just over a £1 a year, you cant fault that economy!

Summary: complete bargain! well worth the price!
