Advantages: Super fast boil for us Yorkshire folk!
Disadvantages: The bulb is not as lifetime as the manufacturer wanted
I love my kettle. I saw this, but the white plastic version in my cousins kitchen and rather liked the perpetual colour changing light. It's a girlie decor kettle really. Having admired it I wished it were available in something to match my own kitchen and my cousin said it was, only more expensive.
Satisfied with that I went and bought mine at Argos and was gleeful to find it on offer and it looked great in my kitchen, for 3 days before the bulb went.
The manual and guarantee said the bulb was meant to be lifelong of the kettle and should not blow. So it went back to Argos.
The replacement last 4 months before that bulb went too.
The next replacement is still with me and glowing cheerfully as I type.
It does a super fast boil which I really appreciate, I'm a tea fanatic and sometimes I need tea more than air I think, so the faster it comes the happier I am.
Not only does it have a fast boil but a quiet boil. Now, quiet would be a relative term, yes it's quieter than a jumbo jet taking off but it's not quiet in the same way mice can be. In fact it can be difficult to hear anything else if you are stood beside it at peak. However, since the boil is short lived I was prepared to live with that.
Having moved house since I bought the kettle I was pleased to see I needed no new changes to collate everything, the colour change means it fits with everything.
If not for the original glitches, it's perfect.
