About 8 months ago, my wife surprised me by spending nearly two days studying kettles (yes kettles), apparently our old one was no longer any use and we needed a new one.

Now this came as a surprise to me because I used the kettle every day and when I put water in it and switched it on, it boiled the water which to me hinted that it was working just fine.

My wife was adamant however that the kettle was no good so we were having a new one, why it was taking her two days of studying the Argos catalogue and online reviews to choose a kettle was a mystery to me but it ended up in us buying the Breville JK82 Lightning White Kettle.

I must admit that I did like the look of this new kettle but all I wanted was for it to be able to boil water so I could have a cuppa now and again and I am sure any kettle could do that for me. So what had my wife found so special about this apart from its sleek good looks?

Well the Breville JK82 Lightning White Kettle boils very quickly and it has a cut off switch should you attempt to boil water without actually putting any water in and it has some fancy LED lighting that lights up blue when the kettle is plugged in but not in use and red when it is boiling, other than that though it is just a kettle.

This lovely kettle cost us a little over £30 and as it looks good and works well I would be happy to recommend it to others!

To the best of my knowledge there is no built in TV on this kettle but it really would be the coolest kettle on the planet if there were. I am giving it 5 stars for all that nonesense but |I am sure you will all understand that you do not get to watch corrie or eastenders on this!
