Breville kettle
Following the sad demise of my Dualit kettle, it was time to stop boiling the pan and get a new one. My only premise was that it looked fairly sleek and didn't cost the earth; after all the last one had been pretty expensive by kettle standards and had lasted only about three years.
Not knowing much about kettles, a trip to my local supermarket found me leaving the store with this one.
FEATURES...
The kettle itself is quite sleek looking, being taller than the average kettle, in brushed steel with a black base, handle and lid. The spout is quite small so this is going to be absolutely no good for filling via the spout- this time I will have to lift up the lid! An advantage here is that the lid does have a little release button at the front of the lid- just push and it releases. The spout is also removable, so I can keep it nice and clean. I have tried to remove it and it is very simple- simply pull off.
At the back of the kettle is a slim water gauge, which I like because I always find they can start to look a bit more grubby than the rest of the kettle, so this isn't obvious hidden as it is behind the handle. Also at the back of the kettle is a simple push down switch which lights up the power light. This turns off itself when the water is boiled.
It has a 1.7 litre capacity so there is every chance that I will be filling it with far more water than I need, and a fast boil element (3000W). I am always a bit dubious about all of these things but even when filled to maximum capacity, it pleases me because within seconds, I can hear it starting to boil. If the kettle is removed from the base, then it will automatically turn off, so no continuous boiling will be going on.
The instruction leaflet comes with plenty of instructions and directions for use, but basically it is the same as any other kettle, and I won't rattle on about how to use a kettle.
AFTER SALES
Any problems, and assuming the appliance has been used for domestic purposes only, then it is guaranteed for a year against mechanical and electrical defecs.
The customer service address and telephone number are in the enclosed leaflet along with information as to how the kettle should be returned.

The website has lots of information about the different available appliances.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
I bought this from Tesco and it cost around £20, so reasonably priced for what is proving to be a good kettle
VERDICT
The kettle is part of the Classique range, and anyone wanting a matching set of appliances can have a toaster and other appliances.
It is easy to use and to set up, and because of the 360 degree rotational base, I don't get the wire all tangled. It boils quickly, looks good, and is actually easier to pour water out of it than the less tall kettles. The kettle is reasonably priced, and so far I am pleased with it.
Long may it last!
Thanks for reading.
