I have now reviewed a variety of things and sometimes sit down thinking I will review something but cannot think of what, this morning was one of those days then suddenly it came to me, why not review a very good friend of mine that died recently, don't worry folks it`s a kettle not a person. Around 4 years ago I bought myself a really cheap but really good kettle and just a matter of weeks ago it gave up the ghost, now as sad as I was to see it go I have to be honest and say that I am more than pleased with the service it gave me. My Breville JK52 Kettle cost me only £19.99 when I purchased it and for a kettle that not only holds 1.7 litres of ... Read the complete review

Living in a household of nine (six adults, three children) in a hard water area, our kettle has to work pretty hard to keep us all supplied with hot bevarages. In the last year we have had a total of four kettles, with this Breville JK52 being the most recent, and the most long-lived at three months old. We bought this kettle from Wilkinson for £15. We tend not to buy expensive kettles as they generally don't last very long in our house, though maybe this is actually a false economy and if we splashed out, they may last a bit longer. Our kettle is the black version of the one in the picture. It looks like a standard, no frills kettle. Here is an ... Read the complete review

So, we've had this kettle sitting in its corner in our kitchen for about two years, and what could I give such a sturdy and efficient appliance other than praise? As a complete caffeine addict, whether it's in the form of coffee or tea, I care not, the quick boil time of this kettle is a god send. It takes less than a minute to boil an almost full kettle, which is astonishing, seeing as the kettles capacity sits at a comfortable 1.7 litres! This does mean however, that users are more likely to waste energy by recklessly boiling more water than is needed, but so long as you are a little weary about this it really is a brilliant function. The kettle ... Read the complete review

I bought this kettle from argos 18 months or so ago. Two, yes two had to be returned within a week because they were faulty, it was third time lucky for me. The kettle is cordless and it easily lifted on and off the base with a sturdy handle with plenty of grip space if you have larger hands. The handle is well placed to balance the kettle when you lift it. Boiling time - a full kettle take a couple of mins to boil, but a couple of cups full is really quick - no probs getting coffee for everyone in the adverts. The light show you get when boiling the kettle is great, a blue glow seen through the two sided windows. However living in a hard water area limescale has ... Read the complete review

I purchased the Brevill JK52 several years ago and for a short period I was very happy with it, that was until the element blew and I had to return it. The replacement was fine for a month then one of the LED's started turning off intermittently. I didn't bother wasting my time returning it again as is still functioned and it only cost £19.99. Since then that is the only problem I have had with it. I particularly like the fastness in which the water boils and the lights were nice while they lasted. The kettle can hold up to 1.7 litres of water and has a hidden element in the base of the kettle which makes cleaning and decaling a lot easier. It also has ... Read the complete review
