Basic fast boiling kettle with pretty lights
Member Name: johnh26
Advantages: Rapid boil, nice lights, large handle for bigger hands
Disadvantages: LED and element failed within a month of purchase
I purchased the Brevill JK52 several years ago and for a short period I was very happy with it, that was until the element blew and I had to return it. The replacement was fine for a month then one of the LED's started turning off intermittently. I didn't bother wasting my time returning it again as is still functioned and it only cost £19.99. Since then that is the only problem I have had with it. I particularly like the fastness in which the water boils and the lights were nice while they lasted.
The kettle can hold up to 1.7 litres of water and has a hidden element in the base of the kettle which makes cleaning and decaling a lot easier. It also has 360 degree swivel base. The base unit has a 0.5 meter cord but the kettle itself is cordless. The kettle's colour is grey/silver and won't look out of place in a modern kitchen. The filter is starting to show signs of wear and tear but when it eventually breaks I won't be replacing it as the filter will cost £13 to replace.
Summary: An okay basic kettle for the price with nice illuminations
