I made a schoolboy error with this, buying something purely because it had money off, and tut, tut, didn't read any reviews in advance. I also thought that kettles were pretty much standard on the market, and how could they really be any different.... oh dear!!
I did have a nagging doubt that Breville wasn't a well known brand for kettles (sandwich makers was the only thing that sprang to mind); however, it was discounted, so that swung it for me.
As a kettle - it does what it says on the tin. It boils the water, and I can have a cuppa.
It also matches the rest of my appliances (ah there was something else within my logic).
But, 2 major issues..... it makes such a racket when boiling, it initially sounds like its going to explode or even take-off, and if anyone is watching TV in the other room, I have to shut the door otherwise thay can't hear anything.
And the other problem is that it leaks. Not alot, but enough to make me a tad worried about the combination of water and electricity.

Bottom line - its a kettle, its boils water quickly, but when this does finally decide to pack up, I'm going to be alot more selective about the replacement.
