Advantages: Compact and stylish design
Disadvantages: Only 1 litre capacity and lid can stick
The Breville VKJ127 is a small, compact and stylish kettle. Its chrome finish and black handle gives it that elegant touch.Although small in size it still has a 1 litre capacity, which for people living on their own would be ideal.
It also comes with a washable filter, and a 1.8KW fast boil element.which heats the water up faster than normal (slightly) saving on the electricity, which in my opinion is excellent when you consider the high cost of electricity these days.
The see-through gauge situated under the handle allows you to see instantly when its time to top it up with water.
Also, being small and compact, this is the ideal kettle for travelling, or for when going on holidays, as it has an integral cord storage facility, so just pop it in your suitcase and no worrying about where the power supply has got to (if your anything like me).
My only bugbear about this kettle is that the lid release system can sometimes stick making it that little bit more awkward to release.
The handle is not completely attached to the two sides of the kettle which makes the kettle feel that little less safe when pouring but has a well designed moulded grip that contours the hand snugly ensuring a tight safe grip.
The kettle can get hot after it has boiled so please keep it out of reach of children at all times for maximum safety.
Being chrome also has the added benefit that it would blend in nicely with almost any kitchen design.
Summary: Sleek chrome design with a rapidboil feature

- 23/01/09 I agree here - it looks like you've looked at stats and just elaborated on them. Also a rapid boil element is really around the 3kw mark - not what Breville would have you believe. |
