A great kettle that does what a kettle should

I never realised how much I use my kettles until I went through 3 in a year. As a busy mum with 3 kids, endless drop-ins from friends and a tea caddy husband I worked out on average, my kettle gets boiled around 32 times a day. It heats up about 57 litres of water per day. That is a lot of water boiling. After my first kettle gave up the ghost I did a quick dash to one of the stores to get a kettle. This was on offer at half price and so throwing it in my trolley, not looking at particulars I paid and took it home.
After taking it out of the box I have to say I was quite impressed, the actual kettle feels substantial but isn't too heavy and the handle even though hard is quite smooth, it fits very neatly into your hand and is easy to manage when full of water. It lights up a pretty blue colour when its on the boil and if your like me, I have a silver appliance kitchen anyway so it fits right in. The kettle Is cordless and sits on the base where you flick the switch at the bottom - a clear oval shaped device near the base. Be warned though, I have many a time switched the kettle on by knocking it, having to go back 2 minutes later to turn it back off.
The good point to knocking it on though is there is no chance it will go unnoticed, the reason why? Because this kettle is not discreet and quiet, nor is it of a medium tone and talking normally. This kettle is shouting from the rooftops over a steaming train. It is so loud. Now while it didn't really bother me at first, I have to say when you cannot conduct a conversation over the racket it makes, it does get a little annoying.
I have put the noise down to the fast heating element and the fact its working harder to get it done quicker and I found it curiously pleasurable to watch the blue bubbles inside the kettle through the panel on the sides. The kettle also has a lime scale filter which I haven't even noticed to be honest but I live in a soft water area, therefore not a lot of lime scale.
A full kettle to boil takes about 3 mins while if you just want a cup the cycle takes around 40 secs. Not bad timing for a coffee. The water as to be expected is boiling hot and this kettle does exactly what a kettle should do, Provide hot water and do it quickly.
The only other to note is that because the kettle is stainless steel, you do need to clean the outer of the kettle regularly to keep it looking like new .
All in all this is a great kettle, pleasant to look at and it does what it needs to do. Just a shame it couldn't learn to be a little quieter.
