We did have one slightly embarrising issue with it (which turned out to be human error/a case of not reading the instructions). For about 3 months we were costantly taking the whole lid up, when filling it, which was a struggle - and we thought we had bought something realy annoying. We then figured out (saw someone use the same kettle) that the clear plastic on the top of the lid could be slid to either side to allow you to easily fill it up. Clearly Britta had thought of people like us who were fed up with having a lid to deal with when taking it to the tap. When I bought this 4 years ago it was quite an expensive kettle. It was very stylish and looked smart on the graphite worktops. You can see how much water you are boiling in cups or litres once it has filtered. This should save money by using power only for the amount of water you need. When the water boils it is quick but rather noisy. Because the main body is see-through it fascinates children, beware and keep them at a distance as the sides get hot! There are problems with steam escaping through the sliding switch on the handle which can burn your hands. Also, the cold water often comes out at the same time as the hot.
