Cookworks Jug Kettle
Advantages: Boils water quickly, appealing look
Disadvantages: Overly Noisy
The usual conversation I have with my partner when I'm in the kitchen making a hot drink.
"what?" "I can't hear you?" "Pardon?"
We moved into this home in 2009 with our 1 month old daughter. We looked for a kettle which would work, not too expensive and would do it's job. We bought this kettle and yes, It does it's job, It makes your tea but it also makes too much noise.
Stainless steel body kettle with a black lid, handle and base.
It's shape is great, it isn't too big, you can see how much is inside with the water level on the inside of the handle. It doesn't clean up very well, It does leave water marks which don't come off very well even with some work.
It's job is obviously to boil water. It has a small mesh filter attachment which stops limescale from coming our of the spout yet mine was very loose and ended up having to be put in the bin, so my tea has hidden limescale suprises at the bottom. It's is very difficult to clean because of the shape inside. It domes out then comes smaller at the top to meet the lid. It also has a rim around the top where it meets the lid which stops any limescale from coming out when washing it out. A red light at the front will switch on when you click the kettle on.
It does it's job, looks nice on the side, and hasn't lost it's shine yet.
It does boil water quicker than any other kettle I've bought before.
The noise it too overpowering. We have to shut the door to the kitchen when we are boiling it.
The noise is very loud and sounds like it is cracking and popping.
RECOMMEND TO A FRIEND?:
i don't think i would necessarily recommend this product to a friend. The look of it is lovely but i would have to mention the noise which would put anyone off.
No longer selling as a single unit in Argos, but with a 4 slice toaster for £39.99.
I bought it for around £15.
Summary: Good for a cuppa, bad for your ears.
