After my previous kettle blew up on me first thing one morning I set out looking for a replacement. After reading countless reviews on many different kettles I came across this kettle and thought how nice it looked in the pictures. It seemed to have many positive reviews so I decided to give it a go.
The kettle has a lovely 3d jewel look to it which makes it look very attractive and expensive. The chrome rings and switch finish the look nicely. It fills easily from the top. The spout is quite narrow which means it doesn't pour too fast or too slow so you don't end up spilling boiling water everywhere when it's just boiled. It's also fairly quite whilst boiling and seems to boil at a good speed. The only two downsides I can see are, the water gauge is underneath the handle so you can't really see how much water your putting in whilst filling it at the tap and the silver switch seems a bit flimsy compared to the rest of the kettle. Having said that I wouldn't let that put you off buying this kettle as it really is lovely looking and would look great on anyone's kitchen worktop.
I need to start this review by saying i don't own this kettle but as the works "teamaid" i use this several times a day.
**Product specs and in use**
Power (kW) 3 . I think this is quite powerful? My travel kettle is 2.something
Storage Capacity 1.7litres - I get about 5/6 cups of tea out of this depending on cup size
Water Level Indicator- you can clearly see on the side how full the kettle is.
Rapid Boil - This is one of the best features .
Style - Jug .This black kettle is cordless and has a 360° swivel base for left or right use.To be honest i cant remember the last time i bought a kettle that didn't have this feature. I guess its nice because you can be more flexible with where you put it and still have it face"the right way".
Limescale Filter-Y. I like how this is removable which makes it easier to clean. Another feature that i think is especially important in the workplace!
Its not very loud so you do have to look out for it boiling.
The only other thing is that the sprout is rather narrow compared to other kettles.
**Price and where to buy**
This kettle costs around the £40 mark from tesco (it seems to vary quite a bit and some websites it costs up to £80.)
** Is it worth it?**
I personally don't like the design on the kettle but it does boil super quick and makes enough cups of tea which is important in a workplace where you may only have 15minutes to make and drink the tea. Its not very loud either which is always a plus point.
