Advantages: Easy and safe to use, quick to boil, good capacity, looks good and well designed
Disadvantages: None from me
I was looking at replacing the kettle in our kitchen. It appears to have been on the blink for a while, the button that you use to switch it on and off is sticking a little so I started looking around to find something that was going to be more suitable. The one that I found was the DeLonghi KBO3001V, I didn't really have any shape or size in mind when looking, I was also not sure if I wanted a modern looking kettle or a slightly more old fashioned one but there were a number of reasons that made me pick this particular kettle, which I will explain later in this review and here are my thoughts on the model.
The kettles price will be dependent upon where you purchase it from so it is definitely worth shopping around for the product. I paid £60.00 for my kettle and this was from the Amazon website. The kettle can cost you up to £80.00 but as I mentioned, it is worth looking around. It can be purchased from departmental stores like Debenhams and House of Fraser as well as electrical stores.
The kettle came well packaged and with a one year guarantee. There are a number of colours to choose from when picking which kettle you want, I opted for the black one but there was also the aubergine, red and blue shades. The black is a lovely glossy finish and the only other colour on it is a chrome colour. There is the Delonghi name on the front in a chrome badge. The kettle has a height of about 28cm and a width of 19cm. There is a capacity of 1.7 litres and it has a power supply of 3kw.
I really liked the design of the kettle, there was something quite fun and funky about it but yet it still looked like a traditional kettle in my opinion. The handle of the kettle was black in colour and very easy to grip when using the kettle and filling it with water. There is a base that comes with the kettle and this gives you the power supply as well, there is a good amount of electrical lead, any excess can be tucked into the base. The kettle is on a 360 degree base which means that it doesn't need to be put on in a certain way.
The kettle is a rapid boil kettle and it is also fairly quiet when it is boiling. The kettle will light up when it is in use and as I mentioned, it seems really efficient when boiling the water up. There is a removable lime scale filter in the kettle, this is great as the water in my home is far from great and in the past I have had to de-scale my kettle on a regular basis and as Delonghi have made this an easy process as well I can say that after using the kettle for a couple of months, I do try and give the kettle and the removable filter a good clean when I can to ensure that it stays efficient and has clean water to boil.
The outside of the kettle, should it get marked, just needs a wipe over, the shine on the kettle is great, I just use my E cloth to keep it looking all sparkly and glossy.
I have nothing but high praise for this kettle, it is efficient and effective in boiling the water, it is rapid to boil and it is also quiet!
5 out of 5 from me on this one
Thank you for reading
