Advantages: its shiny

Disadvantages: very noisy ,poor design, and unreliable

We bought this to replace a cheap noisy kettle and found it to be noisier to the point I have to turn the volume up on the tv and radio in the next room. And to put the tin lid on it , the base has just gone phut, this could be our fault i.e. ingress of water but it is a kettle and its normal environment is a kitchen.Has anyone else ever slopped water from a kettle!.I found this site whilst looking for a spares company to replace the base in case Dualit don't. We will of course report this to Dualit as I suspect it could have been a dangerous occurance,our worktop had signs of the failure the plug was turned on but the kettle integral switch wasn't and when it failed it sounded like popcorn cooking ,fortunately we were at home and closeby to isolate the kettle.

Summary: I won't buy Dualit again if this isn't resolved
