After refurbishing our whole kitchen earlier in the year, we decided to replace all of our kitchen appliances, right down to our kettle. Keen for a modern, industrial yet traditional feel, we spent a lot of time looking for the right kettle that would fit our design scheme. Having already decided on a Dualit coffee machine, we came across this kettle and thought it would be the ideal complement on the kitchen work top. I love that it has the traditional dome look, yet is still sleek and modern for an up to date kitchen.
With a fill indicator on the side you can easily see how much water is in the kettle, although if you fill it to the 2 marker, you'll find you wont have enough water for two standard mugs of tea. I personally also find it quite hard to take the lid on and off to fill the kettle. It is simple to operate with just the one button to push down, and sits on a base so is conveniently cordless when needed. It also has a nice pour, with few spillages. However, the base it sits on does have a tendency to condensate so you do need to wipe this down frequently. As with any kettle, it does scale up quickly and to keep it nice and shiny it does require regular polishing and cleaning.
I do really like the kettle but as we have only recently bought it, it remains to be seen whether it will be worth the extra money compared to other alternatives or if I have simply bought into the brand.
The Dualit DA7262 is a compact dome kettle. It offers a traditional shape and pouring action with a 1.7 litre capacity / The 3kW element boils quickly whilst two large integral viewing windows allow you to boil no more than you need each time.
