Eco Kettle Eco Environmentally Reviews

The one I bought turned out to be the opposite of an "eco" kettle. It doesn't stay switched off properly, so it sits there wasting current. It switches itself off when it boils, like a proper kettle, but because it is so flimsily buit, the switch slowly sags back down with the result that unless the kettle is unplugged or switched off at the wall, it sits there oozing a low level of current. You can hear it quietly fizzing. I think this kettle is unsafe and should be withdrawn from the market.

DO NOT BUY THIS KETTLE! I purchased an Eco-Kettle 18 months ago. Had the same problem as previous reviewer (they sent me a new seal for the lid so this is a known problem) but worse the kettle packed up after 18 months use and I have had no response from either vendor or manufacturer. I have had to purchase a new kettle - THIS IS NOT WHAT I WOULD CLASS AS AN ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY OBJECT IF IT IS OBSOLETE AFTER ONLY 18 MONTHS OF USE!!!

Buy a fast boil ordinary kettle and only fill it to the minimum for the same "green" savings in energy.

This kettle is a brilliant idea. I have had mine since 2005 and it works fine. I had the filters changed twice due to hard water.
