Advantages: Looks nice, seems robust
Disadvantages: Noisy, slightly hard to clean
This John Lewis brushed stainless steel kettle is nicely solid and easy to pour from. The lid catch works well (they don't always). Comes to the boil quickly, albeit a bit noisily. The kettle has had fairly heavy use since we bought it from John Lewis at Christmas, with at least one of us working from home and requiring cups of tea or coffee five times a day, sometimes more.
Design wise this John Lewis kettle is nice looking, and certainly comes at a far more reasonable price than some of the designer alternatives you could buy. It's a little difficult to keep clean, especially if you live in a hard water area like we do, where limescale is an issue. I haven't particularly noticed that this kettle is any worse in this respect than any other similar kettle we've had, though.
Capacity is 1.7 litres maximum, and it will bring a volume of this amount to the boil as quickly as other kettles we have bought that are more expensive.
(Note: the ratings below asked me to rate for picture quality and sound quality, obviously not applicable but I had to fill them in anyway!).
