We have recently purchased a new kettle as our old one was so full of Limescale and the lid had broken!
We decided to buy the Kenwood Energy Sense Kettle. The kettle was a reasonable price at just £45. The main attraction for us was that the kettle is an energy saving one. Since the birth of our daughter we have been very aware of our carbon footprint and also the bills!
The Kettle is energy saving as it has very precise measurements up the side of the kettle. These measurements can also be read on the angle as the line is slanted. This enables you to fill just the right amount of water. It has been suggested that if everyone just boiled the correct amount of water then enough energy would be saved to run nearly all street lamps in the UK. There is also an option to fill just enough for one cup. In my opinion this is a great feature as long as you remember that a cup is not the same as a mug. Something I found out the hard way!
The fact that you only boil the amount of water that you need means that you save time. This kettle I have found is very fast anyway.
The kettle is lightweight and sits on a 360 degree swivel base. The Kettle has a clear main body with brushed metal finish around the base and on the top of the kettle. The handle is black and stays cool whilst the kettle boils and the lid is easy to open with a pull up catch. The ON switch is white and it lights up blue when the kettle is on, which is very quiet.
In my opinion this kettle is very attractive and quiet. It boils quickly and is easy to keep clean. I would definitely recommend this product !
