      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Good all round kettle!

The Kenwood JKP110 is an attractive cordless kettle which is compact and simple to use. I've been using the kettle now for about 1 year and the product still works in good condition. The product is 3Kw in power requirements and holds approximately 1.7L of water. Overall I think it's been a worthwhile purchase but it does have some problems.

      Appearance
The kettle is attractive, it is pearl white in colour, with a glowing blue plastic area with measurement details on it. The kettle is cordless and relies on a white heater element with a silver metallic trim around the outside. The spout is quite a good size and is not too small so that it takes ages to fill a cup. The kettle is quite compact and is around 24 to 25 cm in height, it can hold approximately 1.7 litres of water. There is a small indentation on the top of the lid which allows you to open the lid. There are no real logos on the product besides a grey one which reads "Kenwood", just below the blue measurement panel. When you flick the power switch on, the blue plastic panel lights up which is quite nice and attractive.

      Ease of use
The kettle is easy to use, being cordless and just relying on the heater element at the bottom is a bonus. All you need to do is flick the blue switch just under the handle, and it will begin to heat the water. I've found it heats up water in a reasonably quick time, although a larger volume of water will take longer to heat than a smaller body of water. The kettle was easy to clean and did not collect much limescale on it. Overall fairly easy to work and relatively quick in heating things up.

      Durability
I've had the product for 1 year now and it still works perfectly. The heater element works fine, the switch just under the handle is working and the kettle still heats up water relatively quickly. Overall, I think it will last a good few years since it has no glaring durability issues. The only thing which i've noticed with past kettles is that internal wiring and the heater elements can break after a few years and then need replacing. This product I believe did not include a warranty, so when it goes, I will have to purchase a new kettle.

      Pricing
I paid £15 for the kettle from a local supermarket about a year ago which is quite cheap as far as kettles go since it costs around £30 for the cordless Philips HD4644 kettle which is a competitor. There are cheaper unbranded kettles on Amazon which retail for about £10 but I'm sure they won't be as durable as the Kenwood JKP110. So I did find the Kenwood JKP110 at £15 was good value for money.

      Drawbacks
I did notice a few problems with the kettle. The first would be that the lid at the top does not open very far and has a limited range of motion. It was a bit arduous filling it with water when the lid doesn't open much and I would like to see the product in the future updated with a much better lid. Another thing I noticed is that when heating water, the product is quite noisy. I'm sure it's not as noisy as some other kettles but it was hard for a second or two to hear what people are saying if your standing right next to the kettle.

      Conclusion
Overall, I think the Kenwood JKP110 was a good investment, it was compact, simple, attractive, had a nice light on the blue panel, was cordless and had decent durability since it's lasted a year without much problem. I do find its noisy and the lid has a limited range of motion, but for £15 in a UK supermarket, its definitely a useful and worthwhile product. Thank you for reading my review.
