~ Kenwood kMix Kettle Pink ~
After receiving some Argos vouchers and buying a pink Keep Calm teatowel!! I decided I would very much like to have a pink kettle and toaster.
My kitchen is decorated in white, black and grey with my kitchen cupboards being beech in colour with grey worktops and to be honest it felt very bland and samey so I wanted a nice bright colour, I did buy a red glass table but then decided I didn't like red after all so I swapped tables with my mum for her black glass one and chose the colour pink to add a bit of oomph to my kitchen.... That and my teatowel!
Knowing I had Argos vouchers to spend, of course my first port of call was to look online. Disappointing for me these kMix items were an online exclusive and my vouchers were for instore only so needless to say I was quite upset. However after speaking with my nan she mentioned that she was buying a dining table from Argos so I asked her if she wanted to swap my vouchers for her cash, which resulted in her being very fab and saying yes as it made no difference to her. Great!!
I put the money in the bank and went back to www.argos.co.uk and placed my order for both the kettle and toaster.
I eagerly awaited their arrival.
When they were delivered, I opened up the box and there nestled inside were my kettle and toaster. They came in their own attractive black boxes which showed the kettle/toaster on the box.
Opening up the kettle box I first noticed it wasn't as bright as what was shown on the online picture but needless to say it still looked gorgeous.
It's a very sleek looking kettle, that is a very straight cylinder tube with a domed top and lid. The main body of the kettle is in the beautiful raspberry pink colour, the spout and lid are chrome as is the base. The handle is black. It is quite light and easy to use, the handle is made from a soft touch, easy grip rubber which makes it feel quite secure in your hand.
The front of the kettle holds the brand and name of the kettle, Kenwood is simply printed in white whilst the kMix is embossed and stands out.
The operating switch is beneath the handle and this lights up blue to indicate it being on or off. It features boil-dry protection and is a 1.6l jug.
The lid flips open easily via a simply press on the lid.
So as you can probably tell, this kettle is very aesthetically pleasing. But how does it work? ~
Being a new kettle I filled and boiled the kettle twice before eventually making a cup of a tea. I have to be honest and say I don't think it was necessary to boil the second time as the water smelt fine, I have had kettles in the past where the water has tasted off for a while but this wasn't the case with this.
It boils very quickly with it's rapid boil feature so I love it!
So overall I am very impressed with my quirky pink kettle and not only has it brought a bit of much needed brightness to my kitchen it works brilliantly too.
Checking Argos I can see that they are currently on offer for £44.99 rather than the original RRP of £53.99.
There are a good range of colours available in this range from cream to yellow, orange to pink, green to blue etc.
I can highly recommend the pink as it does look fab but seeing the orange and yellow I am quite taken with those too!
Summary: A bright addition to any kitchen.
