      a reliable filter

      Kenwood WF097 Water Filter.....

I have had this particular water filter for around 2 years now and it appears to be doing just fine. I wouldn't say it is the best water filter avaliable and it does really have any fancy features but it does seem to do the job well.

I purchased it from a local store "Hursts" and paid a special offer price of £14 but having since looked on the internet, I can see that you can pick them up for around the £20 when not on any sort of offer. The price I paid was pretty good as most filters are more expensive than this and especially as it is a branded one.

The look of the jug is okay although I have seen far better looking ones. The main body of the jog is clear plastic, this allows you to see the water level inside the jug so you know when to fill it up (at least it should do, Himself never seems to realise that it needs filling up!). He top section of the jog is made from white plastic which I have to confess to giving it a rather cheap look.

This "Cheap" look is not helped by the dial on the top which shows you when you need to change the filter. This is very basic and the counter is turned each time you twist the dial to open the cover to fill the jog up. This I suppose will ensure that nothing can overly go wrong with the jug as I have heard that the digital ones tend to last less time as the counter fails easily.

The jug is of a good size which does fit inside my fridge door, a factor which I find is a must as I do like to have my water chilled. The jug holds a good amount of water and I would say we get around 3 pints of water out of one filled jug.

The filters, which last about a month, are easily changed and all you need do is to remove the lid and pull out the clear plastic cartridge holder and then turn out the old one and slide the new one in. it really couldn't be simpler to use and the water filters quickly through the cartridge in the jug ready for pouring.

The taste of the water once it has been filtered is more or less like any other filtered water and there is really no difference to me in the purity of the water.

All I know is that this Kenwood water filter does the job well and sits in my fridge nicely. It was a good price and although it doesn't really look like anything special I am fine with it until it until it breaks and then I shall probably buy one that looks a little nicer. Maybe a silver one!

I think a 3 out of 5 star rating is in order and only recommended if you can get it cheap!

I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you.

Many thanks for taking the time to read.
