... had been using a cheap Cookworks kettle that was bought in the Argos sale for just £4.99 around 5 years ago and although it was very basic it had lasted me well. When it started to leak though, I had to look for a replacement, rather than run the risk of electrocuting myself! ... am now using my second Kenwood JK770 kettle; the first one sprang a leak just inside the guarantee period but the store took it back without fuss and offered me a refund or a replacement. I took another Kenwood JK770 in its place and it has behaved itself since. I paid £19.99 for my kettle in Curry s; I know you can get cheaper kettles but I wanted a brand name I could trust. Although my first one needed returning, I knew it wasn t due to shoddy manufacture. The kettle holds 1.5 litres and the power rating is 2500-3000 watts.
