I had this kettle for just under a year. It did its basic job well enough. It boils water faster than my previous kettle, it has an easy to read water level so you don't waste electricity, and the lid and switch are both easy to use.
Having said that, it does have a few drawbacks. It's significantly noisier than my previous kettle - easily drowning out the TV that sits in the kitchen. I suppose that's the price you pay for something that works so quickly.
The outer casing is made almost entirely of metal - which obviously gets very, very warm. Be wary if you have children, or even if you have to reach past the kettle for something else - it really stings.
The biggest drawback with this kettle is its lack of durability. It stopped working less than a year after I began to use it. When I invest in an appliance I expect better than that.
This kettle was purchased as a replacement for my trustworthy old kettle due to upgrading the rest of the appliances and wanting a silver kettle to match. Choosing this one was the worst mistake I ever made! The outside of the kettle becomes hot- I have burnt myself on numerous occasions when touching the kettle accidentally just after it has boiled. The push button to open the lid is also fiddly, sometimes I have to press it 10times to get it to open to be able to fill it with water (as it doesn't fill very well through the spout). Its also very difficult to see how much water is left in the kettle using the viewer on the side, and it seems to produce excess amounts of steam when it boils- to the point where the steam hits the kitchen ceiling. This is completely different to the old kettle, and I now have to open the window when boiling a full kettle more than once at a time. Overall I would advised people to steer clear of this kettle.
