      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      dangerous do not buy one!!!!!

I have always liked to use water filters so was keen to buy a kettle that encorporated a water filter.
I looked through the Argos Catalogue & compaired a few kettles from the various makes with water filters & the kettle seemed to be just what I was looking for-

stylish, mid range price & a known make......

I took my new kettle home, followed the instructions re the filter & started making nice cups of tea & coffee. I liked the bright blue light that came on each time you turned on the kettle- a good idea for families with children as I tell my kids to never go near the kettle & when it is boiling the colour is a visual extra reminder to them. My previous filter kettle changed colour when hot but this was not available when I bought this model.

2 months on & my kettle began to leak! Boiling water would drip out of the base & then cut out as the water poured onto the electrical elements!!!!! This in turn tripped the fuse box & luckily prevented some serious water/electrical shocks!

The 1st time this happened I blamed my husband for overfilling the kettle ( poor hubby!)& when it happened for a 3rd time -I was using it & had not even topped up the kettle I took the kettle back to Argos.

Argos were very appologetic & gave me a replacement one & I asked them to check if this was a 'one off' in case there was a faulty batch. Argos had no record of any othere returns of my model so I was happy to accept a replacement.

      That was 6 months ago.......

Now my 6 month old kettle is cutting out within 30 seconds of being switched on. No leaking yet but there is obviously a fault in this model!

So Today, I am off the Argos again to replace my kettle with a different brand!
