This is the kettle I have in my main place of work, I travel around various offices but chose this kettle for the office where I spend most of my time because it's very busy and noisy so the whistle function comes in very useful. It is an electric cordless kettle and I have never seen another one with a whistle, but I'm not saying they don't exist just that I haven't seen them.
There is a large blue see through panel on each side so I can see how much water is in the kettle. This is useful because the markings are not clear so it's hard to tell how many cups worth of water I have poured into the kettle, I know now after six months of use exactly how high the water needs to be to make two, three or four drinks so I don't waste water or energy boiling a full kettle when I am only making tea for one. I like the shape of the kettle, it's more rounded than most jug kettles and the handle is placed high so that when it's picked up the weight of the kettle is balanced even when I've filled it to the maximum level.
I take the lid off to fill the kettle because I always splash when I try to fill it through the spout, other people can manage it without making a mess so I think that must be just me!
The kettle boils quickly but it's very noisy, so noisy that if I'm standing next to the kettle I can't hold and concentrate on a conversation properly. When I chose this kettle I was planning to put it on a side table next to my desk but I need to speak on the phone as part of my job and I wouldn't be able to hear or be heard properly at such proximity to it.
The water is always clean and clear when I pour it hot from the kettle, the limescale filter does a very good job and there are no stains or dirty marks inside the kettle. The filter is removable for cleaning or replacement but I've never done this myself, I think the office housekeepers would have done and if there were any problems I'm sure I'd have heard about it!
The kettle shows up dirty fingermarks so I find myself wiping it over at least once a day, nothing has ever stained on the plastic even when our drivers handle it with their oily gloves on and all stains and marks wipe off without and scrubbing needed.
