Advantages: Stylish design.

Disadvantages: Lacks a filter.

I purchased the Morphy Richards kettle because I had heard it was a good, safe brand.

It is definitely a stylishly designed kettle. It stood out from all others in the shop. I purchased it in red to match my other appliances and the metallic sheen does look very shiny and smart. The smooth dome shaped design and chrome finish allows for easy cleaning and it doesn't show drip stains much.
The spout is angled to create a smooth and satisfying curve of water as it is poured - My favourite thing about this kettle! This also means little effort is required in tipping the kettle to fill a cup.

Another benefit of this kettle, is that it is placed on a base/dock to boil, which is plugged in to the mains. Therefore, the kettle can be easily picked up and carried about without need to remove any leads.

The handle is positioned at the top of the kettle, above the lid. For me, this hasn't caused any problems with obstructing the lid when it comes to filling up the kettle but I could see it causing difficulties for some people depending on the design of their kitchen taps. Something worth thinking about before buying.

One disadvantage I have found, is the kettle does not come with a filter so when limescale does build up, it leaves nasty surprises in the bottom of your teacup! However, filter attachments can be purchased separately.

Summary: A good kettle, but not perfect.
