Morphy Richards 43912
Advantages: Quick to boil and very easy to use
Disadvantages: The whistling if you use it
Having recently decorated the home I decided to get myself a new kettle and I had never really had a Morphy Richards one and I love to try new companies all the time and I was very happy with my purchase.
This kettle the Morphy Richards 43912 is a kettle which looks old fashioned in the outer frame style. You have the nossle at the front which obviously pours the water into the mug of tea you are making. You then have huge handle on the back which gives you confidence in picking up the product.
There is a huge part at the front which allows you to see how much water you are filling the kettle up with. I found at first this fantastic because it lights up when you are using the kettle and you have a cup on the meter. You have a number inside each small picture of the cup to give you an idea of how many cups of tea the water will provide for you.
You have 1.7 litres capacity which works out at 8 cups which is sometimes accurate but not always I think it depends on how many mugs and cups you might use but that number they provide is a guideline for everyone.
You have a nice clear on and off switch which again lights up when you are using it and I love night time in the dark to relax so this helps me know when I have turned the item on because it offers little in terms of sound.
Now when I say little in terms of sound I should perhaps mention this has the capability to whistle if you want it to. I dislike a whistling kettle but some of my family find it amusing so sometimes you can use that if you want and it adds a bit of a vintage feel as well.
There is a cordless base to this item and you have a 3kw rapid boil element. I find that when I fill the kettle to the top for the 8 cups which they state I find the kettle takes about 80 seconds and if I have the kettle ready for just 2 cups it takes about 30 seconds so there is a variation in how long it can take.
There is a stainless steel effect to the kettle which is worth mentioning as well and I just think the speed and what it offers are all very good. There is a fail safe cut out on this item and I am not even sure what that is meant to do but I have never had a problem with the kettle in terms of having it turn off on its own and things so that is something I am not certain about.
Everything important lights up and everything works quickly and efficently and at £20 which is the price I paid for this item it is a big winner for me.
Summary: A good product
