Morphy Richards 43769
by fleur_the_second
We treated ourselves to a new kettle to go with our new kitchen. The kitchen tiles are lime green, and we thought that a deep plum kettle would be a great contrast (that sounds awful when I read it, but it works - at least, I think it does). We were delighted when we saw that the Accents range had a deep plum colour, and it didn't ... disappoint when we saw it: it's a very rich, deep metallic purple that's subtle but also striking, particularly in sunlight.
The kettle sits on a base that is plugged in, so you can lift and pour it without the flex getting in the way. It doesn't look like a large kettle, but it holds a standard 8 cups. The water gauge is the only thing about the kettle that isn't reliable: it takes a little while to register, so (on my kettle at least) it's hard to gauge when you've filled it. It's a good fast boiler, and clicks out reliably when it's finished boiling. The lid fits well, and is easy to get off but doesn't leak steam.
The kettle needs a bit of work to keep looking good. Because the colour's so deep, watermarks show up and need to be polished off with a softish cloth. The metallic finish looks as if it might scratch easily, so we've been very careful, and so far it's stayed OK.
This wasn't a cheap kettle (£35) but looks great and works reliably. Read the complete review |

Morphy Richards 43775 Accents Cream
by loopylou1234
The kettle is a very important item in our kitchen, we use it A LOT! The old one was on its last legs so I treated myself to a new one. I decided to get the same brand and upgraded version of my previous one as it had lasted well.
It is the Morphy Richards Accents Cream kettle and the model number on the box is 43775 but in ... the instruction booklet it is model number is 43770. (which on the catalogue comes up as the blue version so I hope this is in the right place).
-- Packaging --
The kettle was well packaged in a glossy cardboard box showing the picture of the kettle. On the rear of the box it has listed a few selling points of the kettle with appropriate images. Inside the box the kettle, lid and base of the kettle were neatly arranged inside cardboard inserts.
-- Price and Availability --
This kettle appears to be quite a popular style and is available from a number of retailers. I chose to buy mine from Amazon as I don't really like traipsing around the shops with noisy children who want sweets or toys all of the time!! I paid £39.99 for it on 12 March 2013, which at the time was approximately £10 cheaper than the cost on the high street.
-- Looks and Ease of Use --
The kettle looks attractive and goes together with the colour scheme in my kitchen. The units are French Grey and the appliances (toaster and microwave) are also cream. The base has been upgraded since my last Morphy Richards kettle, it has a band of stainless steel around it to match the spot and the lid.
The kettle itself is very easy to use, simple to remove the lid and fill with water. The lid is stainless steel with a circle on the top to remove it easily. The measure at the side of the kettle is very useful, it shows in cups how much water you have put in. Obviously overfilling the kettle makes it take longer to boil. I find it very fast when I am just making a drink for myself.
The kettle is lightweight, and easy to pour. I was really pleased as it doesn't drip at all (unlike a cheap version I have tried before). It has an concealed element in the bottom of the kettle, which I think will be easy for me to clean. It has a removable limescale filter. There is a light which lights up when the kettle is on.
-- Overall Summary --
I am VERY pleased with this kettle and would recommend it. It is high quality and I hope it lasts as long as my previous Morphy Richards kettle. It also comes with a 2 year guarantee when you register it with Morphy Richards.
Thanks for reading.

Morphy Richards 43832 Accents Kettle
by womble1985
I chose this kettle from the Morphy Richards range as I have been very happy with their products in the past. I purchased it when we had just moved house and bought it in red to firstly match the colour of the kitchen, and because they made many other kitchen appliances in this colour. The colour is a lovely deep metallic red, it looks ... very smart, and is avaliable in a range of equally good looking colours.
I don't like the look of plastic kettles, but my main niggle with metal ones is the noise they make when boiling. This kettle however is one of the quietest when heating up to boil, and it also boils quickly so there is minimum noise.
It has a swivel base which is very useful as I pour left handed and my husband pours right handed and it is easy to swivel round. Any excess cord tucks away neatly in the base.
The lid has a strong spring action and opens wide so it is easy to fill, and it never leaks when pouring. I have had this for almost a year now and despite living in a hard water area it has fended off any limescale very well and still looks like new inside.
It feels very good quality and looks great, I paid £24.99 for it from Robert Dyas and I have since added the matching toaster and slow cooker to my kitchen. Read the complete review |
