Philips HD4644 ... kettle is marketed as being energy efficient however as far as I can tell the only energy efficient feature it has are the cup markings on the water gauge, the idea being that you only need to boil as much water as you need to make the required number of cups and therefore save energy. This is a useful feature however I m not sure it justifies the Energy Efficient label. The flaw in this is that not everybody has a standard size cup and it took me a while to establish how much water I needed for the various size combinations of mugs we have in our house. On the plus side, the kettle boils quickly and quietly however I do have a few major gripes with it. I fre... Philips HD4656 ... good sized kettle, with a hidden element, that comes to the boil (when full) in around 3 minutes. The filter over the spout is fitted in to the lid surround so it doesn t get knocked off in to the kettle (which has happened to me in the past with kettles that have a spout filter that just clips on to the inside of the spout). You get 6 mugs of water if you fill the kettle right up to the max and there is an indicator light... which is a neat blue colour instead of that boring old orange light :-) ... to tell you when the water has reached boiling point. Philips HD4646 ... got the philips hd4646 jug kettle and i have to say its not a good kettle at all ....its more than good that is its one of the best ive ever used. its a great kettle great design and looks. strong build qaulity and nice handle design the button is mounted on the top of the handle i always like this feature because it makes it easy for one handed use for example you can fill the jug and just set it on its cordless base and flick the switch with your thumb all in one move great also its concealed elment means it stays clean. the lid is well made as it snaps shut with a good clear clicking sound. as is the mechanism for holding the lid closed....but this dosent s...
