The Deco Kettle is made by Prestige, a company I were unfamiliar with before buying this product. The design of the kettle is very stylish and ompact, with a 1.5litre capacity it is adequate for most households. The kettle has a retro look and feel to it, and mine is red, making it stand out well in my kitchen. I have to say that the styling sold this kettle to me. The first thing I realised was a design flaw. The Prestige Deco kettle is a quality appliance and part of the lovely Deco range. It has an ample 1.5 Litre capacity neatly contained in a fairly compact footprint. The materials used are high qualty and well finished in-keeping with and indeed complimenting the stylish concept of this retro kettle. The solid metal handle can become hot with repeated consecutive boilings. I love this kettle! I bought this beautiful kettle over a year ago and am very impressed by it. I original chose it because it is cosmetically very beautiful. I have a pink kitchen and other retro looking appliances and so with it's smooth lines and rounded shape along with it's baby pink and silver colours, it fitted perfectly with my scheme. It is easy to use, the small lid is completly removable so you can manoeuvre it easily when filling with water. There is a clear indicator of water level, meaning you don't overfill and waste energy. What is it with pink appliances. Your girlfriend always wants them, yet if they are pink they can almost be guaranteed not to work. They must sell millions of these (my sister in law got about three for wedding gifts last year) I may be being a bit unfair on the colour pink. If you buy an appliance based on its aesthetics then you are very likely to be dissapointed. My main problem is the water gauge - it is woefully innacurate. If it says there's half a litre of water in there, then you probably wont be able to get half a cup. I own a Prestige Kettle - in fact I have actually owned 2 Prestige kettles. Unfortunately I do not rate this product very high - all down to two problems. This kettle works fantastically well. It boils quickly and let's face it they are an eye catcher if you are in to the slight modern look. The Prestige range is naturally over priced for what it is/are (a kettle or a toaster!?)
