The Prestige Deco kettle is a quality appliance and part of the lovely Deco range. It has an ample 1.5 Litre capacity neatly contained in a fairly compact footprint. The materials used are high qualty and well finished in-keeping with and indeed complimenting the stylish concept of this retro kettle. The solid metal handle can become hot with repeated consecutive boilings. Thats not caused any problems for me personally but it is something to be aware of in case you get a start when you go to pick it up and it's unexpectedly hot and you drop it

The kettle and base unit fit together snugly and feel safe and secure in situ. I wouldn't say it was particulary fast to the boil, it is quite loud suggesting a good strong element, but it performs adequately and switches off automatically with a reasurring clunk. It has an auto shut-off safety feature which kicks in when it is lifted from the base. The base has well designed integrated cable storage and a cable grip to keep the 1m flex firmly in place.

Filling is by spout although there is a very well designed lid which can be removed for cleaning or inspection purposes. The kettle features double visual water level aids with both an incremented clear chamber and a red float which allow safe and accurate judgement of the water level. It pours well although because it is a little taller than it is broad, so to speak (given that it is a dome), it requires a good tip to empty it. Worth noting if you are frail or have restricted movement.

Prestige have a deserved reputation for producing quality appliances and the Deco kettle is no exception. It is very robustly constructed from quality materials and finished to an excellent standard. Available in a wide range of colours, it makes a reliable and stylish addition to any kitchen.
