My previous iron broke as, with most of my poor electrical goods, it suffered from dropping. I wanted a hardy replacement so chose a Russel Hobbs replacement from Arogs thanks to reviews on that site. This iron was not the one I chose but a same-price equivilant, but I must say that I've been very pleased with it even though it does not have a ceramic sole plate, just a stainless steel one. It shuts itself off when it gets too hot - a good job given that I've already left it on once since buying it, and I dread to think the state it would be in if it didn't have a temperature control.
