good looking but not worth the hassle (Russell Hobbs 13949)
Member Name: siantone
Advantages: attractive design Disadvantages: useless electrics
I bought this kettle four years ago as principally it fitted with a chrome-finished kitchen I had. Although design-wise the kettle is clean with a retro feel, on a practical level it turned out to be unsatisfactory. After two years it stopped working and Comet, where I bought it from, were naturally uninterested. I also received short shrift from Russel Hobbs themselves. Nothing 'blew' as such but one day the electrics ceased to function and kettles have sealed electrical units that you can't attempt to fix yourself. Summary: not robust enough even if it's a handsome design
