Advantages: Chrome,cool retro design,

Disadvantages: unreliable, poor quality, builds up limescale easily.

I've had this kettle for well over a year now. The chrome finish and shape of the kettle give it a cool retro theme that complements my kitchen superbly. In spite of its interesting design however, It has now suffered a seemingly impenetrable buildup of limescale around the spout area and especially near the lid. This means I can't physically remove the lid without shattering the kettle's exterior, so I have to pour in all the water via the spout, I mean, what am I? Some kind of animal!?

It also doesn't seem to want to heat the water to its full potential these days which makes my morning coffee taste a little weak, something I can't really be doing with before a tough day at the office!

I do not recommend this product at all. Not worth the money.

You really wouldn't expect such a mediocre product with massive design flaws from Bertrand Russell and Thomas Hobbes. :P

Summary: Its not hard to find yourself a cheaper, better kettle.

A lot more info could be good here for buyers though, despite the limescale problems, citing:

Actual wattage - if its over 3kw, then its a rapid boil, thus quicker than most.
What's the actual tank capacity in litres?
Actual cost price?
Easy to clean/ concealed base in the kettle?
Easy to pour without splashing?

REg ardless of what others have reported with this model, as soon as you get rid of the limescale I think you'll find an improvement in your kettle, rather less than blaming the actual design. Adding info isn't compulsory but it could boost your review further.

As it happens I am. Although I have also read reviews from people who are not, also complaining of heavy limescale on this product.
