WHAT IS IT?
A 1.7 litre capacity cordless kettle by Russell Hobbs.
IS IT ANY GOOD?
I've had this kettle for 18 months and so far it's the best I've ever used. The 1.7 litre capacity is enough for family use, the kettle is a very fast boiler and it has a stunning modern design. The chrome is finished with white panelling on certain areas, this white plastic is done well and allows the kettle to retain its stylish design but also has a functional use as the break from chrome prevents fingerprint smears.
The lid opens fully to make it easier for filling under the tap, this is a good design as the spout is so narrow on this kettle that it would be awkward to fill through the spout without spraying the whole kitchen. The lid opens at the push of a button and this button is responsive every time and has never failed to open the lid.
A full kettle of cold water will boil within two minutes and there is a light that illuminates while the kettle is boiling, the light on mine stopped working a few weeks ago but that isn't a problem as this isn't a silent kettle so you can hear it working within a few seconds of switching it on. Pouring is smooth and there has not been any leakage from any part of my kettle, other people have reported leakage from the spout while pouring so if this happens to you return the kettle for an exchange as this is not an issue that affects all these kettles.
The cord is average length and the kettle fits snugly but smoothly into the base, it took me a few days to get used to the thick handle but now I think it would feel strange to use a kettle with a thinner handle.
5 Dooyoo Stars.
