Advantages: Easy to use, good value for money

Disadvantages: Kettle quite heavy, toaster slots not deep enough

Despite the rather massive price tags I've read of others paying for this product, I paid just £29.99 from one of the high street stores for this set. After years of mismatched toasters and kettles, I was excited to find such a good quality set for such a great price. Despite being a set, I'll discuss both separately in this review.

The kettle itself is actually quite bulky, not quite what I envisioned when I saw the big square box! It's tall, the standard 1.7 capacity and has a clear view finder so you can monitor the level of water. Unlike most kettles, it actually has an inbuilt metal filter rather than those naff little plastic mesh things you take out to wash and can never get back in. The element is concealed, and the lid opens with a little push/pull mechanism on the black plastic lid/handle. The rest of the kettle is a glossy finished stainless steel.

The only real feature of the product that bothers me is the weight of the kettle with water added, I would not recommend this to someone who would have an issue with this.

The toaster itself is pretty standard, a two slice stainless steel with black plastic trim with all your basic functions including defrost, reheat and a manual eject button, which is designed to keep whatever you've got in there warm until you're ready to eat it. You also get a neat little removable crumb tray, making it easier to clean. The dial sits in the middle, a slight round thing, again, all I can say I that is negative about the toaster is the actual numbers aren't particularly clear against the silver finish. Another issue is that the slots are wide, but not very deep, meaning you can't get the full slice into the toaster.

Over the next few months of using both products I have to say they are both still fantastic, it may just be my area, but I did find that the kettle scaled up quite easily, though this was quickly fixed with descaler.

Overall it's a really good set and great value for money.

Summary: Great value for money, quite happy with my set.
