Sleek, well designed kettle with a quick boil

I'd been looking for a red kettle for a while to match the red theme in my kitchen. I'd been struggling to find one that was affordable but also a reputable brand. When I saw that Currys were having an electrical sale for boxing day I decided to have a look for a kettle and found this Russell Hobbs one which was reduced from £24.99 to £17.99. I reserved it and collected it in store.

The kettle is a lovely shade of red, very sleek and easy to use. It's 3000W and holds 1.7 litres. It has a water level indicator on the outside of the kettle which is always handy, and it has a water filter which can be removed for easy cleaning. The power cord is 0.6m which is more than enough for most, and the base is fully rotatable, making it easy to position in any part of the kitchen.

The kettle also comes with a 3 year warranty (3rd year requires registration) which was a definite selling point for me. The kettle can also be bought in a bundle, with things such as a matching toaster.

When you first use the kettle, the instructions advise you to fill it up to the max point and boil it, then discard the water. I found that even when boiling it completely full, it boiled very quickly, which I assume is down to the rapid boil technology. It gets a little bit noisy at the peak of the boil but lasts no more than a few seconds.
