I am not one for really fancy gadgets. I like more practical items. If an appliance does the job well and looks smart then I consider it to be a good item. So after just cleaning my kettle again I thought I would add a review! Features: Dome shape kettle Polished Stainless Steel and Black Accents 3kW rapid boil Concealed element 1.8 litre capacity Rear Water Gauge On/off indicator switch Pull off lid Round base with cord Removable, washable filter Facts: First, I did not choose this silver domed kettle which adorns my work surface. However, I am always using it! I don't think I would buy another one the same! What I like! The shape is lovely, traditional kettle shape Size is nice Easy up / down switch We have a great range of kettles in the UK. This is a lovely size and shape. I prefer it to some of the taller models. I like the on / off switch which is large and easy to flick up. The orange light emits to show it is boiling. I can easily see the gauge to know if I need to add extra water. It is relatively light weight and due to its size slides nicely under the tap even if a few dishes are in the sink. The filter soon had holes in it so I threw it out! The lid stays firmly in place yet at the same time pulls off fairly easily. The handle is sturdy on the top and I find it is easy to hold and pour. Anyway I am very grateful for my kettle; it works each day and I can just pour it to make my cuppa. So, this kettle does a fair job and looks smart. It could be improved in my view... What I don't like The marks on the stainless steel which just seem to appear The filter disintegrated The base unit seems to have a film appear on it I personally know to steer away from stainless steel because it needs a polish to look nice and smart. So, for this reason I would not purchase this model again. I don't have a problem with the actual functions of the kettle. It does seem to leak onto the base and I am not keen on this. Also, I would like it to boil for a few seconds longer. It may not be suitable for people with hand / joint movement (a more press and open lid that just lifts up may be an easier option). Would I recommend it? Yes, if it was a style you were partial to. No, if you had a second choice of style. To be fair it does the job it is made for, a really nice shape and apart from a few moans it is a nice little appliance for this reason I will give it four out of five stars.
