Advantages: nice design, works well

Disadvantages: -

I just got a kettle for the office last week and being a fan of Russell Hobbs products, I just had to get one of their blue light kettles. I always look up reviews and consumer opinions before buying items and this model seemed like a good enough one for my office. I know Russell Hobbs have a reliable reputation and this one although not the cheapest had a great design to it and had everything I was looking for in a kettle being quite modern.

APPEARANCE

This kettle is made of a brushed stainless steel body and it has a 1.7L capacity. It comes with a dark base which has a 360 degree base for both right and left hand users. The kettle has the Russell Hobbs logo on the side and has the window on the side where you can see water levels and it has the switch for on/off as well as a sturdy black handle. It just looks very classic and it would look nice in any kitchen area, it really is stylish as far as kettles can go.

Now, to begin with this kettle came in a big box with a few instructions, to set up a kettle is very straightforward though. The kettle base doesn't have the longest cable on it but it is long enough if plugging into a kitchen wall that it will be sat near. The base is down and then you just sit the body on the base and plug it in. Once the switch is turned down then the kettle will boil, it actually boils quickly which is great and even when full it will take a bit longer to boil but it still does so relatively fast.

The blue light on this kettle shows when the switch is clicked on and it will remain on until the kettle has boiled and the switch will click back up. When boiled the handle is not too hot to lift this up and it is a very comfortable handle to hold onto as well when pouring. The kettle is not very noisy which I like, it is pretty much like most kettles and it will make a louder noise when it hits boiling point but then it will bubble and the noise will quieten down right away.

To open the kettle up to fill with water is very easy to do, there is a button on the handle which you click to release the lid and then you can fill it up as far as you want it to fill. To clean this kettle is also simple enough to do and I usually just wipe it with a cloth to keep it clean. This kettle comes with a washable filter if you need to do this and I haven't had any real problems since having this kettle it has been easy to use and looks the part in our kitchen at work.

Overall, this is a great quality, reliable kettle and Russell Hobbs is a success yet again. This kettle looks fancy but it really is good and there are no problems with it. I have used this safely and not kept clicking the on button on all of the time but even when reheating water that has been boiled it works quick. There are no problems with this kettle and it is in great working condition, it boils within a reasonable amount of time and there are no connection issues etc.

COST

This kettle can be purchased in supermarkets or places like Argos. Amazon are currently selling this kettle for £34.99 with free delivery which is quite good.
