The Russell Hobbs Glass Lid kettle is so stylish! It's aestethically pleasing and has a matching toaster, the mix of stainless steel and glass, with the wood look handle makes it very appealing to the eye, and the main reason I purchased it (along with the gorgeous toaster) It's easy to use, just press the little "button" which sits atop the handle and the glass lid flips up, so it's easy to fill straight from the tap, its glass stand is sturdy and grips the counter, easy to sit your kettle onto it, and has a decent length of cord attached to the base for you to plug in. On the downside, it does scale up fairly quickly, so to keep its "good looks" you need to maintain this on a regular basis, descaling and polishing the "shiny" bits. Buy it with its matching toaster, they both look amazing sat on my kitchen counter! The element is concealed, you can fill the kettle via its spout, it's not overly heavy, as the handle looks wooden, but isn't. It's very noisy, and isn't a cheap item.
This kettle was bought from Currys to match a lovely toaster as a wedding present to me - it was quite expensive and bought a couple of years ago. I had seen lots of toasters and kettles but this one was so sleek and stylish - that it just called out to me. I did think it was far too expensive for what I wanted but then couldn't put a price on style. I had also heard that Russell Hobbs was a great make and stable quality. The kettle and toaster were on offer together which helped with the price. It has a frosted glass rim which has "Russell Hobbs" etched into it and the kettle itself is just placed on top of the glass. Since being stainless steel it does need cleaning often to keep that shine. I have not had a problem with this kettle in terms of durability and hope this is the case in the long run. You would also need to be careful with children around as the kettle itself can get hot. For me though this was exactly what I wanted and needed. Just a stylish kettle which fit in well with my kitchen. I don't think I would buy again as I now have a child and will probably look for something cheaper.
I bought this kettle to match the toaster i purchased Expensive i know but just what i wanted. Basically it does the job any other kettle does its stylish and sleek and easy to use. The downsides to this kettle is that it is very hard to clean and it doesnt matter how much you clean it, it never looks clean. For some reason thiskettle scales up very quickly and needs cleaning every 2 to 3 weeks this is very weird and i dont thou why this happens. The keetles not very sturdy on the glass holder and this could cause someone to seriously burn themselves. It has a very shiny wooden handle and this is also very dangerous as this could slip out of some ones hand and burn them. It is easy to fill the kettle as it has a button you just press on the top of the handle which flips the glass lid open. Overall id say this is not as good as the toaster and i expected a lot more.
