Russell Hobbs 13355 ... my stylish Le Creuset hob kettle has given up the ghost. It had started producing rust-coloured water so now has been given a new job housing pansies in the back garden. When your kettle packs in the need to buy one is a bit of an urgency; the nearest and easiest place to buy one being my local, quite small Wilkinsons. There was about five kettles on display and this was a mid priced one. My criteria for buying one being the least amount of internal plastic on the kettle (I try to avoid any possibility of inbibing ay released toxins from plastic). Russell Hobbs Glass Lid 10789 ... kettle was bought from Currys to match a lovely toaster as a wedding present to me - it was quite expensive and bought a couple of years ago. I had seen lots of toasters and kettles but this one was so sleek and stylish - that it just called out to me. I did think it was far too expensive for what I wanted but then couldn t put a price on style. I had also heard that Russell Hobbs was a great make and stable quality. The kettle and toaster were on offer together which helped with the price. He selected this one at the time purely based on price as it was the usual post Christmas January money blues in our household and this cost about £15. Appearance of the kettle This is what I would term a basic kettle it is made from white and grey plastic so it isn t one of those appliances that adds beauty to your kitchen like a Dualit toaster say.
