Advantages: Quick to use and safer than a regular kettle

Disadvantages: Doesn't feel so quick if you're making lots of cups of coffee at once!

We seem to go through a lot of kettles in our household, so when our last kettle blew up we decided to treat ourselves to a Tefal Quick Cup, having seen its product launch on the news. The idea of the kettle is that you no longer need to boil the water to make your cup of tea; instead, the water is heated instantly (well, in around 3 seconds) simply by pressing the red button on the top and dispensed from its tap straight into your mug. There are several advantages to this; firstly, it's much quicker to make a cuppa. Secondly, you don't have to lift a kettle full of hot water to pour it - something that can feel risky for the elderly or injured. Thirdly, you no longer have a kettle of boiling hot water sitting on your counter top - so if your young children manage to work out how to pull the kettle down on top of themselves, they'll only find themselves drenched in cold water. As a parent, this is good to know! So far, I've found the kettle very reliable and convenient and I certainly don't miss standing waiting for a kettle to finish boiling!
