Advantages: quick, hot water, easy to use

Disadvantages: unreliable, breaks a lot, expensive, not boiling

We first got one of these machines over a year ago from a local Kitchen outlet style shop and were very impressed with it. It is a revolution in kitchen gadgets and produces a full cup of hot water within a matter of seconds. The water produced is not quite boiling though - so watch it if you can really taste the difference in your cuppa.
Fortunately, I can't and I actually prefer it being that few degress colder, means my coffee is ready to drink in less time, and being a bit of a demanding impulsive girl, this is great.
The Quick Cup has a built in water filter at the reverse of the clear reservoir. i think that this reservoir thing can hold about 2 Litres of water, although you would be surprised how little this is and therefore how often you need to refill this badboy. I refill mine with the kettle or a jug but you can take it off completely and carry it to and fro the sink - but you would have to take the filter out and put it back in if using this method.
In my house there are quite a few of us using this machine but I wouldn't say that it is over used or used to exhaustion but after only about 2 months usage, the machine completely broke. We had to return it for a new one and again, after a short while it broke, this time leaking everywhere. We are now on our 5th one, and would not really have it if we could have got a refund all that time ago, rather than just a replacement. The product is really good, and its defnitely better than having to wait for the kettle to boil each time, and it is also more energy efficient than doing this but it is such a let down to have so many faulty products from such a well respected manufacturer.
From speaking to other people with this product, I have found that my household is not the only one to have experienced these kind of problems. This leads me to think that Tefal would have been better if they had focused on the product and improving it, even if this had meant a delay in releasing it onto the market.

The QuickCup does look nice in the kitchen though as it has a very modern, contempory design and it does impress people with how quickly I can make them a drink. It is also very easy to programme to the size of a standard cup in your house so that you literally have to press a button once and you get a full cup, this is good but if you have a big mixture of cup sized in your house, or some people need space for milk etc then it is not perhaps as good as it first sounds.

The only other thing is that the machine is really really noisy when it is making the hot water, like could break up a conversation noisy. Luckily it isn't too noisey for long.

Summary: I wouldn't buy it again
