Brand new kettle!
Member Name: annav
Advantages: Affordable, nice colour, light inside
Disadvantages: Plastic not metal
So my cookworks kettle from argos has given up after almost a year of doing a fantastic job. I am a little bit short on cash and bored with shopping at argos so on my weekly shop I found this kettle in the home section at Tescos.
It costs £12.97 and on the box claims to be rapid boil. I dont know how long they count as rapid but it takes the same amount of time as my old kettle. It is made of plastic and this one is in black but they also have it in white. Inside there is a blue led light that comes on when you press the switch and you can see the water inside boiling.
Inside there is a filter to stop limescale coming through, and the bottom bit that heats up the water is silver and looked very clean when first using it.
When boiling it is quite noisy and it is a bit annoying but it is nothing different from my last kettle.
It has a large and sturdy handly that makes it easy to lift up from its base. The base attaches to the mains and is silver in colour. You can make around 6 cups of tea from one boil and on the strip that is seethrough there is a measuring meter so you can see how much water your using.
Overall it seems to be working well, nothing extra special apart from it looks quite sleek and blends in well with the rest of my kitchen equipment. The tea tastes good, and it is light weight and was convenient to buy alongside the rest of my shop.
Summary: A cheap kettle to replace my broken one
