Advantages: Works well, cheap, holds good amount of water, boils well, easy to use

Disadvantages: Cleaning takes time

When you have little money to spend on expensive household items Tesco usually is my first port of call due to there very cheap value range of the small appliances needed. Having a nice expensive kettle that i received as a wedding gift to have it pack in two years later was disappointing so didn't have any great expectations for the Tesco value jug jk07 but only needed one to boil water for the coffee and tea.

The Tesco value jug kettle comes in the value range packaging white with the blue strips and tesco value logo. Inside the box is the jug kettle, base and instruction booklet. Tesco value jug jk07 cost £8.99.

Tesco value jug jk07 looks nice, its pure white in colour, a jug shaped cordless kettle. The shaped spout make it a good pourer without any spillages. It measures roughly 11 inches in height and 9 inches wide. It has a 1.7L capacity. This is alot lighter than my last kettle even when full of water. It weighs roughly 0.85 kilograms.
The base it sits on has a short cable roughly 15 inches from the base to plug so really needs to sit close to a plug point in the kitchen.
On the side of the kettle there is a water indicator level to show how much water is in the kettle with a small red floating ball to measure the water level easy to read. The main switch for turning the kettle on to boil is under the handle and flicking it down to boil, it takes around four minutes to boil water and when ready the kettle stops on its own.

I use the kettle alot during the day for making coffees and teas, one full kettle makes four to five average cups of coffee at one time. I find the kettle to boil quickly and the water is ready to use. It doesn't make much noise when on compare to my last one i like that and the fact its cordless. It works great and does what it should.

Cleaning the kettle is annoying because the elements are open at the bottom of the kettle and has a mesh netting but does get clogged with lime scale. It takes a bit of time to thoroughly clean and trying had not to damage the elements however i have used this kettle for around three years now and had more than my moneys worth from it and still going strong.

I recommend the Tesco value jug jk07 ideal for people just starting a home or those like me that don't have much money to spend.
