Midrange Roland FP-2: ... used to own a Roland FP2 but have now upgraded to the Roland FP4. The Roland FP2 was my first ever stage piano and, I can tell you, I was not disappointed! The piano is very transportable - I could easily fit it into the front seat of any car (just put one end in the foot well beneath the glove box and have the other on the head rest of the passenger seat!) or, if necessary, could carry it short distances (like 10...

Midrange Roland FP-4
... have owned a Roland FP4 for just over one year now. I have been thoroughly delighted with the instrument. Previously, I owned a Roland FP2 and upgraded to gain access to some of the exciting features of the FP4. Let s begin with the basics. It s highly transportable (fits in any car - even a Ford Ka if you know how!) and extremely simple to set up (I ve had all number of children and adults have a go on it). The in-built speakers are an absolute blessing. The sound quality is very reasonable - certainly not enough to fill a hall, but they manage a fair sized living room easily. I played the piano recently at a wedding reception without any additional amplification an...

brunocrosier Novation X-Station 61 Controller Keyboard
... Novation X-Station is bursting with a large variety of functions and features well suited to any avid bedroom musician. It is ready to use straight out of the box, and relatively easy to understand. I highly recommend looking in to this product - especially for less experienced musicians interested in the Electronica/Dance genre. However i also strongly urge you to look in to software synthesizers that run off PC or Macs (see below). This is partly due to the synthesizer s lack of grand piano sounds. I would also say that the price is one of the X-Station s greatest assets. At an RRP of around £270, it is several times cheaper than its market competitors. Another ad...

brunocrosier Korg MicroKorg
... microKORG is one of the best selling synthesizers worldwide and has been used by several electronic bands such as Enter Shikari and Massive Attack. The box simply contains the tiny 2kg microKORG itself, the vocoder microphone, power supply and manual. Users may at first be surprised by exactly how small the product is if they haven t seen it in real life before. It has only 3 octaves, and the keys are reminiscent of those found on a toy keyboard. One thing is for sure; don t expect to be playing any Bach or Beethoven on this baby, as it is almost impossible to get any articulation or expression in the cheap, plastic, weightless keys. The preset sounds that are supplie...
